"mtb" chain on a road bike?

"mtb" chain on a road bike?
I ordered the SRAM PC-99 9-speed PowerChain from Performancebike's web site under the "Road Components" section. The box arrived and says, prominently, "MTB".
I went back to Performance's site and noticed that that same chain is listed (with the same item number) under the "ATB Components" section. So I am inferring that I can use the chain on my road bike, despite the "MTB" wording on the box. Am I correct?

All the SRAM 9sp chains are basically the same. The one designed for mtb use is supposed to be a little heavier-duty, but the dimensions are the same.

Yep, same chain! Same thing with Shimano bottom brackets, a splined Ultegra is the same as an XT! Dura-Ace = XTR and 105 = LX.
