refacing bottom bracket ?

I have a chance to buy a colnago c50 frame from a freind for cheap. However he had to have the BB refaced on the drive side. Is this something that should concern me? I am new to carbon frames and wondered if this will affect the structural strenght?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It is of no concern. Facing the BB shell is simply cutting a very small amount of metal off of the ends of the shell so that the two faces are parallel to each other. It makes the bearings run smoothly with less wear and is a standard procedure.

The fact that the frame is carbon fiber has no bearing on this. The BB shell is going to be metal (most likely aluminum).
