barcons in bar-ends

Would like to use barcon shifters in bar-ends attached to my mtn bike handlebars. Is this possible? Is this stupid?

The I.D. of the bars will probably be wrong. Get some "Paul Thumbies" instead.

Somebody recently posted a similar question recently and also posted a link to bar ends that are the correct i.d. to accept barcons. There was a discussion about how to best route the cables. Try a search.

Paul thumbies are ridiculously expensive when you can mount bar end shifters on old thumbshifter mounts. I've done it and it works great.
