7 speed replacement freewheel/chain?

It's time to replace the Regina 7 sp freewheel 13-26 and chain for my '87 Paramount. I'm thinking of an IRD 7 speed 13-28 with a SRAM PC68 chain. Does this sound reasonable for a Campy C-Record 53-39 crank, C-Record rear mech?

A pc48 will work just fine.

Just went through this to replace a Winner 13-26 on my dear 1978 Proteus. Scoured e-bay for a few months and was amazed at the prices some of the NOS freewheels fetched. A friend put me onto Interloc Racing Design (aka IRD). Check out their site. I bought on of these freewheels and find them much more nicely made than the presumably Chinese made ones you see in the catalogs. I happen to run a Campy 9 speed chain with no problem, but suspect you don't have big issue with this.

I've heard good things about the IRD freewheel. I assume you are running friction shifting? If you plan to index the C-record rear mech you probably will need to locate another regina. I'm more up on the Shimano indexing. Those are some sweet classic parts you're using though.

BTW: the SRAM PC68 chain is a really good choice. They look really classy, the powerlink is convenient and run very smooth. Only downside is the slightly higher price. Sometimes you can get them on sale for under 20$ though usually I think they're a little higher.

sjsc cycles in somerset have some regina freewheels if you want to use the same kind. otherwise, I would consider one of the bog standard shimano ones too.
