Headset bearing seal
So I installed the Marzocchis but managed to damage a bearing seal. I went to the lbs for a seal. "We don't have those". "No we can't order them either". "Because they don't sell them, you need to have a new headset installed".
So, how much will that cost me? Oh, instead of just buying a 50 cent plastic seal?
I say again, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Do you copy? Over.

Have you tried to contact the heasdet manufacturer? They would probably send you a new seal at no cost.

I phoned Specialized in CA. The bike is a Hardrock Sport about three months old with less than 200 miles.
The rep said that they don't carry small replacement parts for that. He was unable to identify the manufacturer of the headset (there are no markings) and guessed that it was made by FSA. I suppose that no one has ever asked about parts for it. Like the fork, it is probably an item that just gets upgraded.
So wadaya think---- Cane Creek S3?

I ordered a replacement to have handy anyhow. I got an FSA The Pig DH Pro Headset based on mtbr.com reviews.
