how do I attach this horn?
How do I put this horn on the trike? My brother-in-law
(an avid biker) and I can't figure it out. We can only put
this horn on parallel to the bar, not perpendicular to the
bar. The horn can be attached to the vertical bar that
holds the handlebar or the horizontal part of the handlebar
(just above the vertical bar). But the horn would end up
facing down or sideway. We want the horn to face
forward.
The horn looks like
If you can't see the image, see

If you have an identical horn facing forward, I would love to
see a picture of it being attached to a bide/trike.
Thank in advanced for your help!

hello
As a little kid I used to mount that exact same horn perpendicular on my bar top, facing forward. I don't remember how, but I did it. Maybe it hung under the bar.....I don't recall.
But given the two pieces of clamps, I imagine it can be mounted in any direction.

One of the clamps goes around the horn, the other one around the handlebar. Stick the screw though the clamp on the horn first (though both holes), then though the clamp on the handlebar (again both holes). Swivel until you fond a position you like, add the nut on the lower end of the screw and tighten. DONE!

BTW, it helps if you add a piece of cut up inner tube around the handlebar before you mount that clamp. That also keeps the clamp from scratching the handlebar.

What kind of bars are you attaching this to. Unless they make something of a 90* turn somewhere like old cruiser bars, I don't see a way of getting them to fit the way you want without a new mounting bracket.

Put the clamps on the horn, and the bars, and put the bolt thru loose enough so you can move the horn. Rotate the handlebar clamp until the long bolt is exactly vertical, or exactly perpendicular to the handlebar. Now the horn in the clamp will turn right or left and will twist perpendicular or 90 degrees to the bar.
In other words you twisted the handlebar clamp until the surface where the clamps touch is parallel to the bars. This allows the horn clamp, and horn, to spin sideways ( move right or left) all the way to perpendicular to the bars.

I have a similar horn but I use a long (11") Velcro™ strap instead of the supplied clip, as I use the horn on all three of my bikes, and it's much quicker to install/remove using the strap.

you can use nylon cable ties to mounts these horns, too. I switched to Honka-Hoota horns.
