upgrading from mech discs to hydraulic.. opinions please!
I've got hayes mechanicals on my hardtail now.. I'd like to upgrade to hydraulics for the better modulation. Any recommendations on brand/model and the best place online to get them?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I really like the shimano hydraulic brakes. I have the xtr with the built in shift levers. It is awesome, but pricey. The shimano hydro's are very nice no matter the level of brake. I know the Avid Juicy brakes get great revues too.

shimano hydraulic brakes are easy to install. They have very true rotors (especially the centerlock variety) and they have good braking power. Avid Juicy's may have good modulation and all that, but they are a pain to set up. Also, Shimano uses noncorrosive mineral oil as brake fluid....

Are you asking about specific brakes or a conversion kit to add the hydraulic disk mounts to the rear triangle?
