OK, how bad off am I?

Purchased a new used OP Ultegra wheels from a guy in my area. He was selling the weels because the black rims didn't go well with his blue and white Pinarello frameset. Not knowing what to look for, I was real happy with my purchase up to the moment I saw the sticker on the rim that indicates (I guess) correct tire size. The spoke is near the 32 on the rim and I run 23s, do I have a problem?

The 32 indicates the number of spokes on the wheel-

You're fine. That sticker indicates the number of spoke holes in the rim, not the tire width.

I am not sure what "the spoke is near 32" means, but my open pros will take a 23mm tire.

Thanks..

barba, the decal is kind of slotted. The number nearest the spoke is 32, I somehow got thinking this might be a suggestion for a nominal tire size.

The other thing that concerned me was the rim was in fact wider than what I took off. I had to relieve my brake cable some to fit the rim without rubbing.

The decal is put on there by the rim manufacturer (probably Mavic) to line up with a rim hole, telling you how many spokes the rim has (32, 36, etc.). It has nothing to do with rim size.
