Customizing my CX - newbie please help

Customizing my CX - newbie please help
To All,
Looking for some advice as I attempt to customize my CX bike. First, I don't race the bike and don't plan to, so I want to modify some things to make it more comfortable for me. What I'd really like to do is to remove the road bars and put on some old school aero mtn. bike bars (the kind that look like flat bar with bar ends attached). To do so, I know I'm going to have to change out the shifters since I have Tiagra STIs right now. I'd like to go with mtn. rapid fire shifters, but I only have 2 chain rings. Can I do this? Is there a specific shifter that is made for dual chain rings rather than the standard 3 chain ring setup? Any other problems you all can foresee?

Keep your STI levers.
Get some On-One handlebars. I'd recommend the "Midge" bars. I have 'em and LOVE 'em! They're a "dirt drop" style drop bar. They work really well off-road and feel very secure-- i actually prefer them to the conventional flat bar on my mountain bike!
On-One also makes a couple of other h-bars that are very nice: the "Mary": a sort-of flat bar; and the "Mungo": a modified mustache-style bar.
The advantage of these three bars is ergonomics. This is something that has been ignored for far too long in handlebar design.

Not a bad idea with the On One bars. I checked out the website and they look pretty cool. Anyone else use these bars? Anyone else know of a mountain shifter that would work with a dual chain ring? thanks.
