Klein Air-Head Bearings

Just thought I'd ask, before I buy a conversion kit...are there OEM bearings available for the Klein Air-head headset, 2001, that one that takes two different sized bearings. The bottom is the largest, 2", and the top ia a little smaller, but I think there's only one configuration like this. My LBS, a Klein dealer, said they were available and then tried to push an aftermarket conversion kit. I haven't been able to talk to the mechanic since. Klein's email customer support is down thanks to Trek. I think that's why my Klein/Trek, LBS, isn't getting the part. So...does anybody know if the bearings are available or not? Anybody want to sell a set? Thanks a bunch. Pat

Reset racing is your best bet. It's what Klein recommends. OEM is Cane Creek - not available AFAIK.

Thank you. I noted that when I visited the web site. Have you dealt with reset? ...or are you passing in information. Thanks again.

I haven't but I've researched them in case I ever have to. Not a lot of reports out there but the ones I've read were good. One guy wrote that he took the bearings to his Klein dealer and they installed everything with no complications. I'd appreciate a report on your experience as well if you go with them.

Other option is too look up a bearing dealer. either on the internet or local. They have most of the bearings for bicycles as most manufacturers dont have custom bearings made instead make their stuff around bearings that are already out there.
