SRAM 12 speed internal hub?

SRAM 12 speed internal hub?
Just checking, as I can't find a source for this, but some people at the college I go to were talking about SRAM putting out a 12 speed internal hub. Not the discontinued one that SRAM/Sachs had that is discussed on SB's site, but a new one, something currently or will soon be in production, and tough enough for mountain bike riding.
Do I need to beat these people over the head with a clue-stick, or is there any truth to SRAM putting out 12 speed hubs again. Currently, SRAM's best offering is their iMotion 9 speed, and there is no mention that the iMotion can stand more than just basic street or trail riding.
To my knowledge, the only internal hub that can really take off-road beatings is the Rohloff Speed hub.

I haven't heard of SRAM coming out with a 12-speed either -- only the iMotion 9 which doesn't seem to be readily available in the US yet.
