Durable hubs

Anyone have any views on a good set of hubs. I am starting to build up a surly cross check as a touring bike and I have decided on most of the parts. However I still am not sure about the hubs, I like the White industry hubs but I am not sure if they are durable enough. I am a clydesdale rider and want something durable and serviceable.

White Industry is a good choice. Phil Wood makes nice ones too.

If you're talking about a derailer-type system, you can't beat Shimano unless you spring for Phil Wood.

In my opinion, no other hubs are worth consideration.
