    Shock & fork repair?

My Fox DXH 3.0 shock and my Marzocchi fork are leaking oil. My LBS appears to have a good service center. Can a LBS normally replace seals, do repairs and such on forks and shocks, or do I need to send this stuff off to the manufacturers?

The fork you should be able to do yourself. It's easy... and cheap if you shop right.

Ok, thanks. But that does not have anything to do with my question.

A shop can do most basic work if they have the right tools. The Shocks are very simple and just about any shop with a vice can handle it, an air fork. For internal work on a coilsprung you will need to send it back. Just about any shop can handle seal install on a fork as well. But there are some tools that make it easier(and safer for the fork) for some fork models. The Marzocchi has seal removers for the various bores that give you something to rest your removal tool against. Then if you want to replace the bushings it gets more likely you will need to send it out. I quit stocking the shop with new bushing tools a couple of years ago, it was costing way more than the return, (I can still do mag21s, quadras and Judys. )
