Problem removing bolt
this is on a 2004 haro V3.
I am trying to remove the hanger that attaches the rear derailleur to the frame. This bolt is between the hanger and the frame. On the outside it is a hex which I have and I can turn it just fine. After taking the wheel off, I see that the inside looks like a torx pattern but I can't be sure. I know the bolt is hollow in the middle and on the inside(closer to the wheel) side of the bolt theres a circle with two notches on opposite sides, kind of like I could take a flat head and turn it but it is too wide for a flat head. Anyone have experience with a bolt like this?

For that you need a right angle split slot screwdriver. Or maybe just a bigger flat screwdriver if you can get a straight enough angle at it. Soak in penetrating oil first to help make the job easier.

mechanically sound
I just did one of these the other day-a chainring bolt wrench. If you don't have one, you might be able to use the tips of a needle-nose pliers. Hope this helps.
