ultegra 10 spd. triple crankset compatible with 8 spd.?
I'm thinking of buying a new Ultegra triple crankset (FC-6603). The crankset is marketed as being 10 speed. Will I have any trouble using this crankset with an 8 speed drivetrain?

Shouldn't have any issues, Possibly some chain clearance...
Sheldon Brown's site has some info on the subject: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/speeds.html#chainrings

Save yourself some bucks and get a 9-speed. You can pick up a FC-6503 for $80, vs. a -6603 for $250, from CBO. Or about $40 used on eBay.

I had seen the 6503 for $90 but then it would have cost me another $50 for a bb6500 bottom bracket.
