With the help of the Mechanics forum and Sheldon Brown's site I built up (as well as overhauled BB, Hubs, and Headset) a fixed gear Motobecane for my friend. We got all the parts from a scrap bike garage sale this weekend and with about 5 hours of labor and two trips to the bike shop we made him a pretty sweet ride. The gear ratio is a little strange but if he likes riding fix I'm going to convince him to buy a new wheelset anyhow!
