Wouldn't it be wierd IF there were not hypothetical questions?
hehe...I like that title. Anyway, here's my hypothetical question. If I were to put a 700C fork on my 27" wheel frame, would I notice the difference? Better yet, would YOU notice a difference? anyone done this before? I'm juast asking because I while ago I saw nashbar's "Upgrade to threadless and save" and it got me thinking...you know, theres always room for upgrades!

You would notice a difference if you keep the 27" wheel as it may touch the fork crown. There may also be a brake reach issue.

Yes, yes, maybe. You don't say weather you intend to fit a 27" wheel in the fork. I would suppose if it's a high-tech road fork, you can't.....
If you use a 700c wheel then all the geometry for the frame is "off"...
I have done this with a Colnoago "super" road frame years ago.
There are too many variables to mention. But one of greater concern is pedal clearence during cornering, (depending on crank-arm length..)

Yea, my bad, I meant to say that (hypothetically), that I would use 700c wheels, both in the back and front.

The 700 fork will drop the front end slightly, making the bike quiker handling. The effect should be reduced some by using 700 wheels front and rear.
I have this set up on my fixed and it works fine for me, but my road bike is a TCR and it is really quick.

well, the bike I was pondering is more of a touring geometry from the 80s. It is italian, and extremely laid back. The reason why the question was hypothetical is because I just bought a new road bike for racing, and I am going to make the bianchi (the one of which we are hypothetically speaking) a tourer, which is was designed for in the first place. No carbon on that bike...carbon=death for touring forks. Anyway, It was nice having this nice hypothetical discussion.
