Rain riding squeaky breaks
I like to ride in rainstorms. I don’t know y but it is exciting. But I have one problem, my breaks. They work but they squeak so vigorously that I get a head ach by the time I am finished riding. Any suggestions on what break pad’s I should use to be rid of the squeaking and squealing. I am sure it is the rain. There is no squealing when I ride in normal weather.

Try some extra toe, the front of the pad touches before the rear does.

Some severe weather pads will wear more quickly but may put a stop to some of the sweaking. Otherwise, a good rim cleaning to make sure they aren't contaminated and trying to toe-in the pads might work.

liquid6933157,
You must be in heaven the way it has been raining the last couple days. I used to use Shimano pads on my MTB and they would howl like a banshee when wet. They would also wear out in 2-3 rides. I switched to a different brand of pad and all was well. Where do you ride? I am riding mostly on Key Biscayne. |
I like having squeaky brakes, particularly in the rain when so many idiots seem to come out of hiding around here. I like to let people know I'm around and make an impression. I'll tell you one thing, it causes that dropkick trying to left (right) hook you to suddenly have second thoughts about it.

Chris L, if you like squeaky brake, try tarring your rims. I tar my trials rims for more braking and you can hear them a block away.
