1991 Specialized Floor Pump

Does anyone know where I can buy a head washer for a 1991 Specialized floor pump? Or do you think it's time to buy a new one?

A good local bike shop will have a "pump fix kit" which is a multi-compartment assortment of washers and parts to fix many pumps. You might find what you're looking for in such a kit if you can find a shop with one.

Of course, it might be quicker and easier and cost-effective (not necessarily cheaper) to buy a new pump. If you fix one part on your old one, another old part may soon fail and then you're in the same situation with more money to spend.

If you buy new, you reset the clock. I've found most pumps, even the store-brand (Nashbar, Performance) ones are good enough for a few years and you should look at paying for one as if it will last maybe 5-10 years if you use it plenty.

I have an old pump (Specialized ?) from c. 1995. The hose and head failed a few years ago but the pump body was fine so I went to my LBS and bought a new hose and head for $10 instead of $20-25 for a new pump. I'm still pumping today.

Good luck!
