Down tube shifter holes
Just wondering what I should do with the holes on the downtube shifters, since i am upgrading to brifters

use the threaded posts as a cablestop/barrell adjuster.

The brifters will come with cable housing stops/adjusters that bolt on over the down tube bosses. At least Shimano will, Campy sells them as optional. You will need to use them when you install the brifters.

so the things that come with the shifters will work over these large brazed on holes?

I bought Tiagra STI levers new in-the-box. They came with complete cables and housing.
(some frames have stops built in - not everyone would want them)

I sort of fail to see why they would include them... don't you end up with lots left over for frames that have stops built in?
