Such thing as a FD Clamp spacer?

Such thing as a FD Clamp spacer?
I have a Ultegra FD with a 34.9mm clamp. My bike, however is a 31.8mm seat tube. Is there any spacers available on the market that will remedy this? I was thinking about using some thick rubber stripping (its from a cyclocomputer mount) to wrap around the seat tube to give me that extra diameter. Does that sound smart?

Yeah, my kid hauler has the same issue (though it's an MTB). I wrapped bike tube around the seat tube and clamped that. Flawless shifting for 8 months straight now.

Braze ons and adapter clamps are the way to go, IMO. I hate not being able to move parts around bikes.

I ended up with a new steel bike the year that Campy stopped making the smallest FD clamp in Record. Bought the next bigger one and clamped it with the rubber shim from a computer. Still working, 2000 miles later.

That is very useful. It's getting harder to source 28.6 ders anymore. Thanks for the link

The Universal Cycles band clamp linked above is exactly what I need...except that I need to go from 31.9 to 28.6 and it looks like they don't carry that size. Anyone know where I could find one? thanks.

I had the same problem with a Shimano FD. But I learned something interesting, most of their FDs use the same style clamp. So I unscrewed the bigger one and switched it with the clamp from an older FD. It worked perfectly.
