shimano ultegra 600 8spd rr DERAILLEUR

I need a new rear derailluer for my 98 cannondale r900. I have 8spd 600 ultegra derailleur that is now bent.
I am wondering how to find new a new derailleur that will be compatible with my powertrain combination. It seems hard to find new 8sp derailleurs. Should I just try to hunt down the same "outdated" 600 ultegra or is there a new derailleur out there that will be compatible with my bike/indexing.

Any info will help!

Thanks

Paul

Is it the dérailleur that's bent, or the hanger? The latter is an easy fix.

A 9-speed Ultegra rear derailleur would be perfect. But vpiuva is correct.
