What does Nashbar mean...?

This part comes without the plastic spacers, what does that mean?

There are no spacers included to adjust the height of the handlebars (by putting spacers on the steerer below or above the stem). If you need spacers, you'll need to buy them separately.

I bought one of these at this price from Nashbar for a Cross-Check build I just completed. Seems pretty decent, especially for the price.

Thats what I suspected, but I never bought a headset that included spacers. Thanks.

It seemed odd to me that they pointed out the "no spacers" thing, but I had never bought a headset before. Apparently the S2 must normally come with spacers.

Yeah, Cane Creek headsets (at least the ones I've installed) come with these plastic spacers that lock together. They are kinda cheap so it's no major loss, most folks probably don't even use them. Their one redeeming quality is that they may shed water better due to the interlocking design but that seems to be a solution to a non-issue.

Ordered one of these headsets today. In reading about the spacers Cane Creek states that they lock together to eliminate noise from different spacers moving relative to one another. Using one spacer of the appropriate height is always a good idea anyway so not receiving a bunch of small spacers doesn't seem like much of a loss.
