Adapter claw?
I have been reviving my early 80s bianchi into a touring bike, since it has really long chainstays and relaxed angles. I was taking off the deraller, and I noticed that it is of the "claw" type. This means I need one of these: adapter claw
I have a broken cheap tourney rear mech at home with the claw intact. how hard would it be to take a hacksaw and cut off the claw and drill the hole for the derailleur to hang on? what about that little notch? what are the specs for the hole and that notch? Any help would be appreciated.

For $3.95 you don't have to worry about the specs for
drilling, or angle or any of that.
I bet your LBS would have the adapter claws too, that
way you wouldn't need to pay shipping...

They didn't have them. I already asked. Besides, I think it might be a fun to try it anyway. so, what size is the hole? anybody?
