Adjusting gears/shifters and brakes

Does anyone know a good page on bike maintenance? With like diagrams and stuff? Because i have a few old bikes that i want to tune-up but i'm not sure how to go about doing it... i don't really want to pay $40 to tune up at the bike shops here. Thanks

Matt

There's a ton of good info at www.sheldonbrown.com. And more at www.parktool.com.

Thanks for the sites! Parktool is especially good =) All the ones I found had no diagrams and were quite vague.

You might also want to look at picking up a volume of Barnett's manuals. All the diagrams and detail you always wanted to know about but were afraid to ask. The set of 4 books comes packaged for under a $100. Mines paid for itself in LBS labor costs several times over.

The online versions will work, but it's nice to have the book right there in front of you as a hard copy. If you don't mind researching through the online version and prniting everything, then it's the way to go because it costs nothing. I just prefer having the book there.
