Ultegra front derailleur problem

I am having problems with my ultegra derailleur. I can't figure out what I did wrong with the set up. The cable keeps getting stuck on the side of the derailleur and preventing me from shifting in the the large chain ring (picture 1). I know that the limit screws are not the issue and the shifter is fine. Also the shifter is set up correctly. When I keep the cable from catching on the side of the derailleur it shift fine. I am not sure if the cable is supposed to sit behind the round part in picture 2. I looked on the Park page and the Sheldon Brown page and haven't found the answer. I included 3 pics. If you can see what I did wrong please let me know. I know it must be something simple that I just missed. Thanks

you're routing the cable into the bolt the wrong way. it needs to go up the back and over that lip, then down into the bolt/clamp

like so:
Ultegra 1.JPG

and make sure it goes OVER the little lip on the back near the bolt, then down into the bolt. otherwise it wont work correctly into your big ring

Thanks! I knew I was just missing something. It makes perfect sense now. I can't believe I didn't think of that.

This is such a common problem there should be an FAQ for it. Proper routing of the cable isn't obvious and, in fact, the tab looks like it should be a cable retainer.

Shimano's installation instruction sheet shows the proper cable routing but doesn't really emphasize it nearly enough.
