Replacing 9-speed cassette w/10 speed
I have a TT bike with 9 speed shimano cassette and friction shifters. Can I pull the 9 speed cassette and put a 10 speed on (it already has a 10 speed chain)? Will the wheel dish/hub spacing be correct? Any other changes/adjustments neccessary? The wheel is a Mavic Aksium if that is of any consequence.
Thanks for the help.
Sounds like it should work. I believe the 9sp and 10sp cassettes are the same width, the cogs are just thinner on the 10sp to squeeze in the extra gear.
Thanks - I'll give it a shot. It sounds like I might not need any adjustments. At worst, I'd have to adjust the derailluer stops.
