nyc certification
anyone know of a school or workshop in nyc where you can get mechanic training and certification. i feel like i can already do most things but it'd be nice to learn more. and it helps with jobs

Check the LBS' in your area to see if any of them are hosting the Park Tool School. Park Tools "Big Blue Book" is always used as the instructional material but it is taught by a local wrench. It cost me about $65 and an additional $20 for the book. It consists of 4 or 5, 2.5 hour classes and I thought it was pretty good although it's highly dependant on how good the local wrench is as an instructor. You can also check out Park Tools web site to see if any classes are given in your area and who the instructor is.
