It also makes a difference how you sit when you ride. Try letting your feet and arms bear more of your weight.

OP, the suggestion of padded cycling shorts may not solve your problem but they are a legitimate suggestion to add comfort. They will help some what in combination with what ever saddle solution you come up with. Don't dismiss them out of hand. I would suggest you try both and maximize your comfort. Cycling in anything else hurts like hell.
You can get padded shorts that look like walking shorts and have pockets so you don't look like a dork when you get off your bike.
