Mavic A317 Disc versus Velocity VXC
Both are disc specific 700c road rims. Both are from reputable manufacturers. Both are evidentally so new I can't find much information on them.
What do you think is the better rim? The bike is a commuter bike, CX frame, running Schwalbe Marathon. Currently 28s, but I'm going to bump up to 32s because of the HORRID roads here.
I've been a Mavic snob for a while, but maybe I should give the Velocities a shake.
The shape of the VXC is very interesting, but a bit concerning for one reason.
The picture is tiny, but I took if from Velocity's website. The circled part is where I think it could be easy for the tube to try to sneak under the bead of the tire, in that angled recess by the sidewall. What do you think?

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully I'll get some more. If I'm going to rebuild my wheels, I want to gather LOTS of information, so I won't have to reconsider again.

I noticed reading that link that Mike specifically singles out the VXC in the category of disc specific rims. Are disc specific rims weaker due to the lack of a reinforced braking surface?
