Front derailleur cable routing

I'm putting together a 03 Stumpjumper FSR Comp from scratch, so I don't have any reference to go by as far as what parts came off of the frame and where the cables are routed. I bought a XTR fd-m970 front derailleur, top swing. I just noticed that both derailleur cables are routed through the right side of the frame, but the screw on the derailleur for the cable is on the left side of the frame. Is this typical, or is there a derailleur with the screw towards the right side of the frame?
