10 speed vs 9 speed

i currently have a 9 sp campy drivetrain, looking at a new set of wheels(mavic with record 10 hub), would it work on my 9 sp? thanks

No problem at all. Campy 9 and 10 sp use the same cassette hub body. If your hubs are nice why not have them relaced with a new set of rims. Campy hubs are of very high quality and can be rebuilt for reasonable money. Good luck

I'm not familiar with Campy systems, but check to make sure that the index shifters will handle a change from 9 speeds to 10.

I don't know about Campy, but in Shimano you would have to change the index shifter out for a 10 speed model. That's another $150 or so.

Also don't forget about the chain. In a Shimano drive train, you have to change to a 10 speed chain (narrower). A 9 speed chain absolutely will not work. That's another $35-$40.

The OP is not talking about converting to 10-speed, just asking if the 10-speed hub will work with a 9-speed cassette.

You are correct. I missinterpreted the question. Thanks.
