Strange noise at the bottom of my stroke

Hey guys. I know this is a shot in the dark being as you can't see the bike or hear the noise, but I'm hearing a weird scraping noise at the bottom of my stroke if I'm putting any pressure on the pedal at all. I cannot duplicate the noise without being on the bike and pedaling so it's tough to try and see where it's coming from. I'm also a novice when it comes to bike repair, so I don't know what sound parts give as they fail. Any possibilities you have for what may be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

I had a pretty similar sounding problem awhile ago. I eventually figured out that it was my chain, which had stretched out. Obviously, a new chain solved my problem.

Of course, I don't know that this is your problem....... But, it's would be an easy/inexpensive pklace to start.

I would try tightening a few things first:

(1) pedals
(2) chainrings
(3) bottom bracket

Does the sound change when you mash versus spin?
