Frame requires 49mm brakeset reach ...
I bought a new Soma Delancey bike frame which requires a 49mm reach brakeset. I'm going somewhat retro/old-style with this build and would like to install a NOS set of Dia-Compe Royal Comp-II's which are reported to have a 39 to 49mm reach range. I'm no wrench and will be having my LBS build the bike with the parts I provide. In your opinion, will this brakeset work with this frame? Or, due to the 49mm being the top-end of the range of these brakes, is it not a good idea?
Also -- anybody have any ideas on how I can determine if brake pads can be purchased for this brakeset? Any recommendations for online parts/accessories bike retailers?

All I can say is give it a try. If you are really close, you can use a file to get a few extra mm out of the slots on the brake calipers. Whatever you do, make sure there is absolutely no contact between the pads and the tire.
