Front derailleur
i have a double crankset with a 12-25 on the back. when i shift from the small ring to the big ring i can use gears 25-14 but when i goto shift into my 13 and 12 cogs the chain hits the outside of my FD. I can fix this by nudging my shifter a bit and it moves the FD over just a hair more so it doesnt rub, but then if i shift back down to say my 19 cogs it rubs on the inside of the FD...how do i fix this?
pictures would help too =)

go to www.parktool.com and read up on front derailler adjustment. Couple of things to check:
FD alignment, limit screw cable tension.
Sounds like you have trim setting on the shifter, SOP.

You need to be sure your high limit screw is not limiting the front derailleur from moving far enough out (right).
If you can manually, using your thumb, move the FD farther to the right then try adding tension to the front shifter cable by turning the barrel adjuster counter-clockwise 1/2 turn or so.
Another possibility is that all of the cable was not out of the shifter when the cable was attached to the front derailleur. Flip the front derailleur's small shift lever several times, then check for slack in the shift cable, there should not be any.
