Rust on rims
Was working on my long neglected junk store MTB and after removing a tire to change a flat I dscovered that the inside of the rim was rust orange pretty much right through. What would be the best way to remove this type of rust from the location described?

If it's rusted through, replace the rim. If it's just surface you can use a stiff wire brush to get it off (or some of it anyhow)

if it's just spot rust some semi course steel wool does a great job taking that stuff off, and when you get it done I'd spray some rust preventer on the rim.

I'll give the steel brush/wool a try. Replacing the rims would probably quadruple the value of the bike. It's just not cost effective for me right now.
