Mountain bike + road fork and wheel
Hi, all. I've got an old hardtail MTB that I want to make rigid to play bike polo on (the stock fork is pretty much shot). I'm primarily curious if the geometry will likely be excessively twitchy (keep in mind that polo is usually low-speed). Also, are there any other gotchas to watch out for? (like crown race diameter or something?)
I already have extra road brake bits hanging around, so the travel issue is already taken care of. The bike is a 2003 K3 Zed 4.0
The suspension setup:
Manitou Axel Comp (2003)
80mm of travel
100mm longer than the road fork when uncompressed
~5cm rake
26" wheel + 2.1" tire
The road setup:
Stock carbon fork, Fuji Finest (2004)
~5cm rake
700c wheel + 25mm or 28mm tire
