Cassette Rub

I bought a used rear wheel with a Shimano freehub and the older XTR cassette that I put on hits the spokes. The spider is what is hitting. Why is this happening? Can any thing be done to make these two parts work together?

Thanks

Kevin

Since we have no idea what parts you're talking about, this is impossible to answer.
