campy 06-07 zonda wheels
I have a pair of 06-07 campy zonda wheels that I would like to replace the loose balls with sealed bearing instead. Has anyone tried this if it is possable? If it is, could you let me know what size of bearing you used, or does anyone know the size of the lose balls? I had to rebuild my rear wheel and I couldn't get the rock out of it no matter how hard I tried. I also had a friend who worked in a shop for 15 years and he couldn't get it to stop rocking back and forth without binding up the wheel. Is thier a trick to this?
Thanks to anyone who helps.

For all practical purposes, you can't convert cup-and-cone hubs to cartridge bearings. I expect someone somewhere with access to a machine shop and plenty of spare time has done it but most mortals can't.
The hub most likely takes 1/4" bearing balls, 9 per side.
Adjusting the bearings isn't that difficult but the difference between too loose and too tight is very subtle. The fact an experience machanic couldn't get it adjusted properly makes me think there is something significantly wrong, like a bent axle.

Campy spare parts book for Zonda shows the hub bearings in races and if the drawings are accurate, 15 balls per side. So probably 3/16" balls (if Campy uses standard sizes). Replacement part number is RE023 front and rear.
