Upgrading Tandem from 8 to 10 speed

I have already purchased my DA triple shifters, longcage XTR RD, Ultegra Triple FD, and 10 Speed cassette. Now my dilema, does anyone make and/or stock 10 speed compatible chainrings for my older Specialized crankset (104 & 70). If not any, any good suggestions for 10 speed tandem cranksets?
Any help is greatly appriciated.

iirc chainrings for 8 speed systems will work fine with 10 speed systems.

haha sorry for that. iirc is internet lingo for "if I recall correctly". In other words, the chainrings you currently use on an 8 speed bike should work fine with 10 speed. You shouldn't have to buy new chainrings.

Alright, you got me on that one.
Just to make sure I don't wonder off the path again.
You are saying a narrow 10 speed chain will work fine on my 8 speed chain rings?
Thanks again for the help!

Yes, most chainrings are already made thinner to accomodate the angles lines they will have to take in various gearing combinations. One exception I can think of is single speed (track) chains, which are commonly thicker because you have a straight chainline (hopefully) anyway.

The inner dimension of the chain is the same. The plate thickness is what has changed. Your 8s rings will be fine.

Well, you might have to be careful with the chain. The new ultra narrow (5.9 mm) 10sp chains sometimes ride between my 9sp chainrings. The regular 10sp chains (around 6.1 mm) work fine. If you have problems with the wider 10sp chains, you could change the chainring spacers.
