shimano r770 10spd compatible with ultegra FD?

hi all! just getting back into cycling after almost 10yrs and i have 2 questions: 1- is the shimano R770 10-spd shifter compatible with ultegra FD? (i will soon be having a madone 5.2 triple and i requested the dropbards be replaced with flats -- bad back.) 2- do i change the shifter, FD and brake lever as well?he guy from the LBS said the ultegra FD can stay and he only replaced the shifter and brake lever. please advice. thanks.

2) He's right. Why don't you trust him?
