1" steering tube forks >300mm
I have a a huge schwin road bike frame that i am looking to put a new fork on. I measure the steering tube to be 24.5 cm, 245 mm w/o headset cups. THe fork i am interested in is the Surly cross fork 1" steer tube. https://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...ross+Fork.aspx
The steer tube length is 300 mm. My question is will there be enough room to mount the headset and stem?
If not does anyone know of another 1" steer tube fork w/ linear pull, canti brake bosses and a longer steer tube.

Just measure the length of the original fork, just the tube, right down to the fork crown, not the top of the bottom raceway for the ball bearings. If it's less than 300mm ... then you're golden.

As the headtube is 245 mm and most 1" headsets have a stack height of about 37-40 mm and the thinnest are about 30 mm so you have only 15 -25 mm to fit the stem if this is a threadless fork. Won't work. If it's a threaded headset and fork, you are fine.
