bolt on FD mount on a giant tcr comp
Can you take the front derail braze on mount off of a tcr comp frame in order to use a clamp on fd? I don't want to buy a new fd if I don't have to and I noticed the braze on adapter pictured is bolt on.

Yes you can take it off, but why would you want to? People spent a ton of time and money designing that frame, there's a reason it's a bolt on not a clamp on. Don't McGuyver a great frame.

The reason being is that I just bought a brand new record carbon clamp on FD for my other bike and was hoping I could use it without compromising the frame in any way. I definetely don't wanna McGuyver the frame...I didn't even like that show!

Most, but not all, carbon frames use a braze on FD. I'm just saying to stick with what the mfg specd it for to be sure.

switch
The cage assembly is easily removable by simply loosening a 3mm allen bolt. You can switch the cage assembly to another type or clamp size mount for use on another bicycle frame
