Truing stands
Do any of you know anything about the Ultimate truing stand. I ordered it already because I have there work stand, but I was still wondering if it's a good one or not. They say I can mount it right on the workstand and I thought that would be pretty good. Thanks for any replys.

I like mine but it's set up on the bench. I'd rather sit in front of the TV while building a wheel. The stand mount would be nice but after completing a rather anal retentive wheelbuilding process, my wheels rarely go out of true. It has a nice substantial base and it's better than the only other one in its price range that I looked at. Since it's single sided, you also need a dishing tool if you're going to build wheels. And if you're building, I think the little Park Spoke Tension Meter is more important than the truing stand or the dishing tool.

Thanks cachehiker, I'm glad to hear that. I just need something to true the wheels every so often. I'll have to get the tension meter next.

I have a cheapo Minura. Wouldn't want to have to use it everyday in a shop, but for now ans again wheel truing it is great.
