road triple

Hi hope all are good... I would like to know if anything one can tell me if a Sun Tour Superbe Pro front derailleur can be used with a triple crankset...

No. A triple crankset generally needs a triple FD.

(Of course, it would be nice to know what crankset and what shifters. Try reading the PLEASE READ THIS sticky thread at the top of the forum.)

I presume the front DR is a vintage friction shifter. This nice stiff DR should work well, depending on the setup. I have the same DR on my 1984 C'dale with a 48-44-30 triple crank, 6-speed 12-28 freewheel and Suntour Barcon shifters. This is a classic 1/2 step + granny touring setup. The front shift is fast and clean with the 4 tooth 1/2 step shift. You only use the inner three sprockets with the granny CR. The limiting factor is the chain rubbing on the bottom of the front DR cage if you try to shift too high on the rear. The up shift from the inner CR is also good because the middle CR is not in the shadow of the outer CR and the chain picks up well with the 14 tooth shift. If you are using newer HG type CRs the shift will even be smoother.
