Another Braze On Shifter Question
In an effort to learn the fine art of road maintenance, I decided to build a bike and modify/restore another. I noticed both frames have the braze on shifter mounts (or so I believe based on books and pictures off the net). Both frames are mid/late 90's, one steel and one aluminum, though both mounts measure the same. Switching to STI's or any other brake/shifter combo is not an option with me at this point. Both bikes run Shimano components, 8 spd, but one triple and the other double.
While doing some searching on the net, the two items that pop out are new Dura Ace SL-7700 or the ebay NOS Golden Arrows.
Would either of these to options work? Are there any other brand new options to go with? Please advise.
