Outboard BB bearing noise-Is it normal?

I have a used CAAD9 with all stock parts. The web site says the BB is a TruVatiV Giga X Pipe.

It was shipped to me with the cranks off the bike.
When I placed the cranks back on a turned the things the bottom bracket is making a noise.
It is consistently in the same spot.

When I apply pressure against the BB and turn the noise isn't there.
Is that normal for a BB with outboard bearings?

Do I need a new BB?
Is something bent?

remove cranks, remove BB cups. Clean & re-grease threads, BB cups, and BB Shell. Re-install with torque wrench to specified torque. If sound comes back in same area of bearing, then that bearing cup is more than likely shot. Buy a new BB cup and install to spec.

If that fails face your BB shell.

Hey thanks guys.

I was beginning to wonder if I had a real problem on my hands and nobody wanted to answer or I just asked a really, really stupid question.

With me, it could be either
