Question about Cranks/Chain Rings

I currently have a compact crank (50-34) running on an Ultegra 10-speed road bike drive train. Is is possible to replace the large 50 tooth chainring with a 53 and end up with a 53-34?

Thanks!

Compact cranksets use a 110mm bolt pattern (as opposed to a 130mm bolt pattern on standard doubles). So all you need to do is find a 110mm by 53 chainring that is 10 speed compatible. If you find the correct chainring, your front shifting will not be as good and you'll need a longer chain.

They do make 110 BCD 53T chainrings. But most FD's are designed to shift more than a 16T difference so it may not shift very well if you keep that 34 on the front. RD tooth capacity may be an issue too.
