embarassing question

i'm buying a trek 520 and want to run wider tires. it comes stock with 700x32s. do i have to replace the rims to run 700x35s?

it has appropriate tire sizing according to rim width.

I'd be equally concerned about fitting the fork, will there be enough clearance in the crown area? I don't know. 3 mm doesn't sound like much, but....

The 520 is Trek's touring bike so I expect they gave it plenty of clearance for wider tires and fenders.

i've heard fork clearance is one of the 520's cons, but someone told me (from experience) they handle 37s with fenders. so, i'm set!
