The inside of a three speed hub

I had one apart so I took a picture. This is a Higgins hub with SturmeyArcher insides. It was a spare wheel that came with an old Scwinn trike our shop rat picked up from Craigslist. Two of the ratchets were stuck with a little rust, which must have happened when it was new because it was otherwise in perfect shape except for dirt jamming up the rod hole.

Eek, that does not look like a fun rebuild.

Is your sig from King of the Hill, or am I imagining things?

It's no good doin' a rebuild unless ya got parts left over!!! Springs usually. Fine hair ones, like those that appear to be escapees from a wire brush on the blue cloth

Consider replacing the hair springs while you're in there. They are cheap enough and are the only part I've ever had break in my old 3-speeds.
